Earth Day Climate Action
With the California State Parks Foundation
When: Saturday, April 23 from 9 am to 1 pm
Where: Candlestick Point
Volunteers will help restore habitat by removing invasive plants like fennel and mustard from the park. We will also pick up trash and debris to protect local wildlife and ensure the park is clean for future visitors to enjoy. After the workday, park staff will host a scavenger hunt with educational booths and activities that share the history of this unique urban park and how it is combating climate change. Ages 8 and older welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult and bring a waiver signed by their guardian).
Earth Day San Francisco

Gather on Valencia Street at Earth Day SF! Experience inspiration and get information in the Activism Zone, with a mix of enviro-speakers, non-profits, and a selection of vendors who focus on sustainability. Enjoy live music, a vegan chef’s showcase, and kid’s activities. Celebrate Mother Earth, build your environmental awareness, and enjoy neighborhood fun.

Earth Day Slow Streets Spring Sweep
When: Saturday, April 23 starting at 9:30 am
Where: Slow Streets locations around San Francisco
Refuse, a nonprofit dedicated to cleaning up San Francisco streets, will host events in partnership with KidSafe SF, S.F. Parks Alliance, and others, on Slow Streets and around the city. Find the nearest cleanup site, pick up supplies and help beautify your neighborhood. Afterward, join neighbors from across the city for an after-party at the Great Highway Park. ree! See some amazing art, hear inspiring talks, play fun games and enjoy good music at this special community event. Learn about actions we can take to save ourselves and our planet.
Afternoon Wildlife Sail on San Francisco Bay
Earth Day 2022
When: Fri, April 22, from 2:15 pm – 5:30 pm
Where: Sausalito Yacht Harbor
This sail will be focused on catching views of the local Bay and Pacific wildlife. Possible sightings include Pelicans, Seals, Harbor Porpoise, Cormorants, Gulls, Blue Herons, Egrets, Sea Lions, and Whales. Though we can never guarantee a sighting, this route is known for its scenic view and exciting wildlife action.
RESTORE AND CREATE
16th Annual Earth Day Celebration at Stinson Beach
When: Saturday, April 23, 2022, 10:30 am – 3:30 pm
Where: South end of Stinson Beach
This inclusive event inspires and energizes people to care for and protect the earth not only on Earth Day but throughout the year.
Bags and gloves are provided, but you are invited to bring buckets and gloves to reduce our environmental footprint. Join Andres and Kelsi from Elemental Team Arts in collaborative activities making ephemeral art with natural materials from the beach. We’ll be leading several short sessions on different ways to create at the beach. You are invited to bring tools that could help with art-making as well as bring small percussion instruments such as shakers, bells, or palm-sized drums to join in the musical creation.
13th Annual Point Reyes Birding & Nature Festival

This annual fundraising event celebrates spring bird and wildlife migrations along the Pacific Flyway in Marin and Sonoma counties with proceeds benefiting our nonprofit mission to protect and sustain the unique lands, waters, and biodiversity of West Marin (coastal Marin County). There is something for everyone in your brood, with trips and activities for a variety of ages and experience levels.

Sunday Family FUN Day
When: Sunday, April 24 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Where: 65 Third Street, Point Reyes Station
Calling all families with fledglings ages 5 – 16! Attendees are encouraged to dress WILD for this family fun day on the green! Think wildlife-inspired costume wigs, wings, headwear, masks, face paint, etc., or birds, butterflies, jellyfish, or your favorite animal. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket, snacks, and lunch for hanging out on the lawn.
